Olive Oil | Monounsaturated fatty acids

    Also called: olive oil

Olive oil is a vegetable cooking oil extracted from the fruit of the olive tree. The oil contains approximately 75% monounsaturated, 15% saturated and 10% polyunsaturated fatty acids. Olive oil is not normally used as an excipient, it is normally used in cooking, however in the context of food supplements it can be. It therefore does not have an E number.

Pharma Nord uses olive oil in soft capsules to dissolve fat-soluble vitamins. We also use cold-pressed olive oil. The fact that the oil is cold pressed means that it is produced mechanically without the use of heating and/or refining, and that the temperature of the oil has never exceeded 28-30 degrees. It is also Extra Virgin and can come from both organic and non-organic producers. The country of origin can be Greece, Italy or Spain.
