Inflammation is an essential mechanism of innate immune response. But sometimes things can go wrong, and inflammation becomes chronic. Chronic inflammation symptoms are usually much more subtle than those caused by acute inflammation. Moreover, they can persist for several months or years: fatigue, depression or anxiety, pain etc.
Left untreated, chronic inflammation starts damaging healthy cells and tissues. Over time, this can lead to DNA damage, tissue death, and internal scarring, increasing the risk of several inflammation-mediated severe diseases.
Chronic inflammatory diseases are currently the world’s most significant cause of death, and the World Health Organization ranks them as the greatest threat to human health.
Chronic Inflammation is an advanced all- day training session with Brendan O’Brien MSc NT.
